Sub: Clarification regarding acquisition of minimum educational qualification after the death of deceased railway employee.
Ref.: Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/2017/RC-1/23 dated 01.02.2023 (RBE No. 21/2023)
Attention is invited to Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/2017/RC-1/23 dated 01.02.2023 (RBE No. 21/2023), wherein, instructions regarding educational qualification for compassionate appointment were issued.
2. In this regard, it is clarified that in cases where an applicant did not possess the prescribed minimum educational qualification at the time of submission of the initial application for compassionate appointment but subsequently acquires the requisite minimum educational qualification within the normal time limit prescribed under the extant instructions (i.e. 05 years from the date of death/medical invalidation or within 02 years of attaining majority if registered as a minor), such cases may also be considered for compassionate appointment in accordance with the extant instructions, subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions and other applicable provisions governing compassionate appointment.
3. The other terms and conditions contained in Board’s letter dated 01.02.2023 will remain unchanged.
