Extension of Abeyance of Revised Guidelines for Competitive Written Examinations for Persons with Disabilities working in Indian Railways under the RPwD Act, 2016 – Railway Board order

Sub: Extension of abeyance of applicability of revised Comprehensive Guidelines for conducting competitive written public examinations dated 0108.2025 for Persons with Disabilities under the RPwD Act, 2016-reg.
Ref:- (i) Board’s’s letter of even no. dated 10.09.2025, 06.11.2025, 20.03.2026
and 24.04.2026.
(ii) DEPwD’s OM No. P-13013/75/2023-Policy-DD-III dated 25.06.2026 and
01.07.2026.
In continuation to Board’s letter under ref. (i) wherein, clarification issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) regarding applicability of revised Comprehensive Guidelines dated 01.08.2025 for conducting competitive written public examinations for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) under the RPwD Act, 2016 was circulated to all Zonal Railways and Production Units for strict compliance.
2. Now, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, vide O.M. dated 25.06.2026 followed by O.M. dated 01.07.2026, has now decided to extend the abeyance of applicability of the revised Guidelines dated 01.08.2025 beyond 30.06.2026 upto 31.12.2026, or until further order, whichever is earlier owing to ongoing stakeholder consultations and development of a suitable digital system.
3. The same may please be brought to the notice of all concerned for information/necessary action and strict compliance.
4. This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
