Subject: Vulnerability found in multiple IP’s belong to Pay & Accounts offices under various Ministries/Departments.
The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject above and state that the NIC Service Desk has informed that IP addresses belonging to PAO offices are communicating with IP related to CNC Server. There is high degree of possibility that such systems would have got infected with malware or a trojan. These systems could compromise security of IT systems being used in the PAOs and need to be addressed immediately.
2. Following action are advised for strict compliance in this regard:
a. No unauthorized software or program is installed on the machine.
b. Necessary OS update/ Up-gradation must be applied.
c. The updated version of Anti-virus must be installed on all Computers regular scan must be done for check of malware/virus.
3. In view of above, all Pr. CCAs/CCAs/CAs with independent charge are kindly requested to strictly enforce the above measures for all systems installed in their offices. A confirmation indicating the compliance to this may also be sent to this office by 30-09-2020.
This issues with the approval of Competent authority.
