Expected Dearness Allowance / Dearness Relief @ 67% from January 2027 – All India CPI-IW for the month of August 2026 issued
Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment vide Press Release dated 30.09.2026 has published the All‑India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers or CPI‑IW for August 2026. As per the press release the CPI‑IW rose by 1.2 points to reach 154.4 in August up from 153.2 in July 2026.
The year‑on‑year inflation rate, calculated from CPI‑IW went up to 4.96 % in August 2026 in comparison to 3.16 % in August 2025. Looking at the categories the Food & Beverages index went from 158.9 to 161.3. Pan Supari, Tobacco & Intoxicants went up from 176.9, to 177.3. Clothing & Footwear climbed to 158.2 and Fuel & Light reached 160.0.
श्रम ब्यूरो, श्रम एवं रोजगार मंत्रालय ने 30 सितंबर 2026 को जारी प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के माध्यम से अगस्त 2026 के लिए औद्योगिक श्रमिकों के लिए अखिल भारतीय उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक (CPI-IW) जारी किया है। प्रेस विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार, CPI-IW अगस्त 2026 में 1.2 अंक बढ़कर 154.4 हो गया, जबकि जुलाई 2026 में यह 153.2 था।
CPI-IW के आधार पर गणना की गई वर्ष-दर-वर्ष मुद्रास्फीति दर अगस्त 2026 में बढ़कर 4.96% हो गई, जबकि अगस्त 2025 में यह 3.16% थी।
विभिन्न श्रेणियों पर नजर डालें तो खाद्य एवं पेय पदार्थ (Food & Beverages) सूचकांक 158.9 से बढ़कर 161.3 हो गया। पान, सुपारी, तंबाकू एवं नशीले पदार्थ (Pan Supari, Tobacco & Intoxicants) का सूचकांक 176.9 से बढ़कर 177.3 हो गया। कपड़े एवं जूते-चप्पल (Clothing & Footwear) का सूचकांक बढ़कर 158.2 हो गया, जबकि ईंधन एवं प्रकाश (Fuel & Light) का सूचकांक 160.0 पर पहुंच गया।

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (2016=100) – August, 2026
1. Labour Bureau, an attached office of the M/o Labour & Employment, has been compiling Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers every month on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets spread over 88 industrially important centres in the country. The index for the month of August, 2026 is being released in this press release.
2. The All-India CPI-IW for August, 2026 increased by 1.2 points and stood at 154.4 points (one hundred fifty-four point four).
3. Year-on-year inflation for the month of August, 2026 stood at 4.96% as compared to 3.16% in August, 2025.
