ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND
FAMILY WELFARE
(DR. BHARATI PRAVIN PAWAR)

(a) to (d) Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) is a contributory health scheme primarily meant for central government employees and pensioners. The scheme provides OPD facilities and medicines to the beneficiaries through CGHS Wellness Centres. The Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Bodies have been issued plastic cards. However, there is also an option of printing a paper card with a beneficiary under CGHS. The Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Bodies registered with CGHS are entitled for availing OPD and Medicine facilities through CGHS Wellness Centres. Further, Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Bodies which are not covered under CGHS scheme, have the option to adopt Central Services (Medical Attendance) Rules, 1944 for availing medical facilities or any other medical scheme as chosen by the Autonomous Body/ Statutory Body.
