EXTENSION OF MAXIMUM TIME PERIOD FROM 15 DAYS TO 30 DAYS WITH CHANGE IN FINANCIAL CEILING FOR PURCHASING OF MEDICINES FROM THE MARKET IN CASE OF NON — AVAILABILITY IN POLYCLINIC BY ECHS BENEFICIARIES FOR REIMBURSEMENT

1. Please refer the following :-

(a) Gol. MoD letter No 22D(01)/2016/WE/D(Res-I) dated 30 Jan 2019 (copy att)

(b) CO ECHS letter No B/49762/AG/ECHS/Medical Policy dated 08 Apr 2019 (copy att).

(c) CO ECHS letter No B/49761/AG/ECHS/Medicine Policy dt 08 Nov 2019 (copy att).

(d) Gol, MoD letter No 22D(01)/2016/WE/D(Res-I) dated 25 Mar 2022 (copy att).

2. Existing Para 5 of CO ECHS letter given at Para 1(b) above be replaced with amended Para 5 as under :-

Para 5. Provision of Medicines & Consumables on Reimbursement Basis to ECHS Beneficiaries if ‘NA’ with Polyclinic/ Authorised Local Chemists (ALC)

(a) The said provision has been approved by Gol (MoD) vide letter at Para 1 above. Separate provisions exist for ‘Special Conditions and ‘General Conditions’ which have been covered in succeeding paras.

(b) ‘Special Conditions’ for reimbursement of NA Medicines.

(i) These are as indicated at Para 6 of Appx to MoD letter No 24(8)/03/USD(WE)/D(Res) dt 19 Dec 2003. The special conditions are :-

(aa) Post operative cases for major Cardiac Surgery/Interventional Cardiology.

(ab) Obcology.

(ac) Post operative organ transplant cases.

(ad) Post operative joint replacement cases.

(ae) Post operative major Neurosurgical/Neurology cases.

(ii) Provision for Reimbursement for ‘Special Conditions’ at a Time.

(aa) Non Cancer Drugs.

(aaa) Upto No of Days. 30

(aab) Financial Limit. Upto Rs Rs 75,000.00 (Rupees Seventy Five Thousand).

(ab) Cancer Drugs.

(aba) Upto No of Days. 30

(abb) Financial Limit. Upto Rs 5,00,000.00 (Rupees Five Lakhs)

(c) ‘General Conditions’ for Reimbursement of NA Medicines.

(i) All conditions except those covered at Para 5 (b) (i) above will be treated as ‘General Conditions’.

(i) Provision for reimbursement _of Medicines for ‘General Conditions’ at aTime

(aa) Upto No of Days. 30

(ab) Financial Limit. Upto Rs 25,000.00 (Rupees Twenty Five thousand).

3. These amendments will come in force wef 25 Mar 2022 from the date of issue of Govt letter at Para 1 (d) above.
