Subject: – National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, 2026-reg.

Sir/Madam,

I am directed to forward herewith an OM No. Y-11020/15/2026-NA dated 20.05.2026, has been received from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment on the subject mentioned above.

2. The National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is a prestigious civilian honour conferred by the Government of India every year on 3rd December, which is observed as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. These awards aim to recognize and promote outstanding achievements by Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and institutions/organizations working for their empowerment.

3. The guidelines for National Awards 2026 are available on the Department’s website www.depwd.gov.in and the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal www.awards.gov.in. The portal will be open for submission of applications/nominations from 15th May 2026 to 31st July 2026. Only nominations received during this period will be considered.

4. In view of the above, all the addressees are requested to identify and nominate PwD employees with exceptional achievements and upload their details on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal by 31st July, 2026.
