Sub: Guidelines regarding Waiver/ Write off of Demurrage/ Wharfage
Ref: Corrigendum No.60 of Rates Master Circular/Demurrage-Wharfage-Waiver/2016/0
Please refer to Board’s circular under reference regarding revision in the guidelines for waiver/write off of Demurrage/Wharfage including Schedule of Power(SOP) for different level of officers.
FOIS has made relevant changes in IREPS as per the SOP guidelines for new application/appeal as well as for all pending application/appeals for waiver of Demurrage/Wharfage.
Zonal Railways are advised that all requisite measures should be taken for prompt clearance of waiver application/appeals of Demurrage/Wharfage by the end of 31 March, 2026.
Zonal Railways are also requested to analyze the causes of high accrual of Demurrage/Wharfage at Goods Sheds & sidings and take remedial steps including provision of infrastructural facilities to reduce the detention to rolling stock.
