Sub: The scheme for engagement of “Honorary Visiting Specialists (HVS)” in Railway Hospitals regarding.
Ref: (i) Railway Board’s letter No. 2014/H-1/12/8/HVS/Policy dated 19.06.2018.
(ii) Railway Board’s letter No. 2018/Trans. Cell/Health/ Medical Issues dated 24.08.2018.
The matter regarding the revision of honorarium rates for the engagement of Honorary Visiting Specialists (HVS) in the Railways has been under consideration of this office. The revised honorarium rates, along with the provision for deduction in remuneration for any absence exceeding 12 days, as concurred by the Finance Directorate, are as follows:
- The Revised Honorarium for HVS and Daily Rate of Deduction of Remuneration: The revised honorarium rates and the deduction rates or any absence beyond 12 days or engagement of HVS are as under:

2. Revision of honorarium rates for engagement of Honorary Visiting Specialist (HVS) will be done after 05 years of the issuance of this letter.
3. The above changes will be effective from the date of issuance of this letter. All other terms & conditions of the scheme for engagement of HVS shall remain unchanged and as modified from time to time.
4. This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate of Board’s office.
