Subject: Functioning of Post Offices/RMS Offices/TMOs and delivery work on 12th & 13th September, 2026 – reg.
Sir/Madam,
I am directed to refer to your email dated 08.09.2026 seeking clarification regarding opening of Post Offices/RMS Offices and undertaking of delivery work on 12th and 13th September, 2026, in view of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, being held in Delhi from 12th to 13th September, 2026.
2.     In this regard, it is clarified that 12.09.2026 (Saturday) and 13.09.2026 (Sunday) shall be observed as holidays. Accordingly, Post Offices in Delhi Circle shall remain closed on these two days.
3.     However, RMS Offices/Transit Mail Offices (TMOs) in Delhi shall remain open and operate as usual on 11.09.2026, 12.09.2026 and 13.09.2026. Delhi Circle may, therefore, ensure that necessary arrangements are made for uninterrupted functioning of RMS Offices/TMOs and related operations, during this period.
4.     This issues with the approval of Competent Authority.
